Working in clay has been one of the best experiences of my life. It continually engages me like no other medium.
Like many potters my background began in painting. I initially wanted to use clay as a canvas for my ideas. That notion quickly faded after the first few years of working in ceramics. I now embrace my silent partner, the Kiln Goddess. She never ceases to thrill or infuriate me.
I work in oxidation, cone 5, with an electric kiln.
