The Annual CALIFORNIA CLAY COMPETITION EXHIBIT is sponsored by The Artery and held in conjunction with the California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Art (sponsored by the John Natsoulas Gallery in Davis). The Artery, home of the Artists’ Cooperative of Davis, has sponsored the Competition since 1990 to give California ceramic artists an opportunity to display their work during the California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Art. Works accepted must be for sale, available for the duration of the exhibit, and made within the last two years.

Sponsored by NICHE magazine, the NICHE Awards program began in 1989 to celebrate excellence and innovation in American and Canadian fine craft. Artists are recognized in both professional and student divisions.

The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts hosts a juried ceramic competition every two years. The competition is open to all artists who are residents of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. All work completed within the last two years, both functional and sculptural, is eligible.

 

Strictly Functional Pottery National, http://www.strictlyfunctionalpottery.net/

A national juried competition to select 95-100 quality pieces of functional pottery for this exhibition. It has been held annually since 1993, and is open free of charge to the public for one month. It is recognized as one of the top ceramic exhibitions in the country.
