Because I do a lot of Raku firing, clay has taught me to appreciate unexpected results — and to look at the world with “opportunity eyes”. The spirit of playfulness tiptoes through most of my work. You will see that in leaning houses or little chair planters and tables with legs that “step out”. Current explorations include incorporating related elements into my work, like melting glass with raku pieces or adding semi-precious stones like chevron amethysts, fire opals, and other beauties into the forms of my vessels. I like the idea of having different incarnations of the same basic elements together in one complimentary piece.
